Board of Directors - Elections

The World Congress of History Producers Board of Directors provides guidance and stability to the annual congress and serves to galvanize the interests of this growing and very important television genre. The Board currently consists of 13 leading executives selected by the history and biography television community as represented by the delegates of the 2004 History Congress held in Toronto. Of the thirteen, twelve were elected in December 2004, and one was acclaimed by the nominating committee as Host Broadcaster. Each elected board member stands for a two year term.

Vote for Your Board of Directors!

Delegates of the 2005 History Congress in Rome and delegates of the 2004 History Congress in Toronto are eligible to vote for additional members to join the current Board of Directors. Please use your Username and PIN to access your ballot. Voting is now open and will run until Tuesday, December 27, 2005.

You may cast only one ballot. Each ballot will accept up to four votes consisting of two votes for a broadcaster and two votes for a producer/other. Election results will be made available on this website in early January 2006.

Board responsibilities include:

  • Appointment of a Chair and Vice Chair
  • Appointment of steering committee for the next World Congress of History Producers. As such, each board member will be asked to make him or herself available to the organizer of the event for the purpose of planning the History Congress.
  • Appointment of the following committees:
    • Host (to include at least one board member, additional members to be appointed in conjunction with the board and the organizer)
    • Conference Content
    • Sponsorship
    • Delegate Promotion
  • The board meets in-person at least once per annum at the History Congress, and meets telephonically at least three times per annum notwithstanding the frequency of History Congress planning calls. The Board may choose to meet more often.
  • The Board is a volunteer board. The organizer will cover all reasonable costs associated with the administration of the board. Board members will be asked to cover the costs of occasional phone calls.
  • Elected members will stand for a two-year term.
